First of all, a massive thank you to my readers for being so patient with me. It has been a while since I have been able to write a post but that doesn't mean I haven't been dropping by to see what all of you have been up to over Christmas and New Year! I have loved reading new year's resolutions on some of my favourite blogs so I thought I'd jump on board and share mine too.
Blog more regularly
Essentially, before Christmas I was a bit of a hermit for a few weeks, working on my uni assignments. Despite the hard work, I really enjoyed by first semester and am looking forward to returning at the end of January. Importantly though, I'm also massively looking forward to updating my blog a little more often. Although it would be unrealistic to think that I can write a post a day or anything close to that, I hope to write at least once a week. You could perhaps say it's kind of one of my new year's resolutions.
Correct my body clock
While doing all of my uni work I also managed to adopt a ridiculous routine of getting up incredibly late and sometimes not getting to bed until 3am. Although I'm definitely a bit of a night owl, even I can see that this is a bit silly. So, in an attempt to correct it, I am trying to set an alarm for every weekday morning and hope to eventually get up by 8am every day without fail. Perhaps this is more of a goal than a resolution but either way, the new year is definitely a good time to start. In an attempt to get to sleep at a more reasonable hour I have my phone dock on the other side of my room to avoid getting distracted with social networking and emails before I doze off.
Keep fit and healthy
Although I am already a bit of a fitness fanatic, I really want to keep it fresh, try new things and remain committed. Last year I vowed to try Zumba and Pilates. I did both, as well as taking up a gym membership which I have been enjoying regularly since last summer. This year I hope to go spinning more regularly (I have already booked onto a class next Thursday), try a new Zumba class at my sports centre to make the most of my membership (I am booked on tomorrow morning's session) as well as give a completely new class a go, I think I will opt for Body Attack. If anyone has tried this before, please let me know what you thought! Similarly I'd be interested in hearing more about Body Pump too. I hope to blog about health and fitness a little more too as I feel it is such a current and important topic.
Tan more regularly
I know this may sound a bit of a silly resolution, but I often don't get round to reapplying my fake tan and yet every time I do get a chance, it makes me feel so much more happy and confident, especially given that I don't have the clearest skin at the moment and I feel it appears to lessen my problem areas.
Spend more time with my girls
I absolutely love my girlfriends to bits! Every time that we meet up it's like we have never been apart, even though sometimes we are so busy that it can be over a month between catchups. So, I am vowing to make a bigger effort to arrange dinners, brunches, drinks and other excursions to give us chance to have a good natter.
I'd love to hear what you think of my resolutions as well as any suggestions or ones of your own that you'd like to share. Just drop a comment below!
