The deadlines for my university assessment pieces are coming close and so I will sadly be a bit of a desk hermit for the next few weeks... I'm pretty happy with my desk set up at the moment though, so I thought I'd give a quick tour...
+ MacBook Pro
My Mac is pretty much always sitting pride of place on my desk. I am so glad that I invested in a good computer before I started uni. My old Dell wouldn't have been able to keep up!
+ Ted Baker Laptop Case
When I'm not using my Mac, it's safe and sound inside my Ted Baker case. It's patent black and quilted, with a chunky gold zip and I adore it.
+ A4 ruled notepad
I always keep some ruled paper close by for note taking. Usually I end up with pages full of doodles, quotes, random sentences/keywords and endless references...
I love the look of this diary but it is just too chunky to carry around with me. I bought it thinking that I would need a page-a-day to note down assignment details, info from meetings/seminars etc but since I got my Mac, I haven't really used it for that purpose at all. Next year I will definitely revert back to an A6 week-to-view where I can just write down key appointments. My boyfriend can never understand why I don't just use my phone calendar for that purpose, but I find that there is something enchanting about having a perfect little diary in your handbag.
I'd love to design my own diary pages. It'd be great to create a page for birthdays, some month-to-view grids, some week-to-view sections, somewhere to insert my uni timetable etc.... If you know of any companies that allow you to do this, please let me know!
+ Acrylic Pen Pot
I love this pen pot from Muji. You may be able to see in the background of my photographs that I have another one identical that I use for some of my makeup brushes.
I always make sure I have some writing pens (always black!), pencil, highlighters and scissors to hand.
I have had this desk light for so many years that I cannot even count!
+ Note Paper/Sticky Note Block
I keep all of my sticky note blocks in an acrylic holder also. I'm not sure where this one was from but it originally was full of a stack of square, coloured note papers.
I love my ultra-girlie lever arch file that I got from Paperchase last summer, it's quirkiness definitely brightens up my desk. All of my plastic files are from W H Smith.
+ Text Books
I have an absolute mountain of text books, only some of which fit onto this unit!
The desk itself was from Argos I think. It was pretty cheap, cheerful and simple to put together.
+ Kartell Victoria Ghost Chair
I absolutely love this year. I think that it is my favourite piece of furniture that I own. After finishing my A-levels at sixth form college, I worked for an interior design company and I couldn't resist buying a couple of my favourite pieces as soon as I was blessed with my staff discount. I bought this
chair by Phillipe Stark for Kartell, as well as the
table to match, which currently serves as my bedside table or, when I have a lot of work, it sits by my desk with stacks of open books on it!
As I mentioned, if you know of any custom-diary making companies, just pop a comment below, or tweet me @_nataliejohanna and I will be very grateful :)
I hope you enjoyed having a nosey!
