Especially since I have become addicted to
classes, I have experienced an increase in muscle soreness. The same goes for my boyfriend since he has been lifting heavier and more regularly, so we have been trying out

BCAAs (Branched Chain Amino Acids) are the es
Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine,
that the body cannot synthesise on its own and so must obtain through dietary sources of protein. BCAAs are said to stimulate the building of lean muscle and possibly reduce muscle breakdown.
My boyfriend found the BCAAs particularly effective. When he took this supplement half an hour before his training sessions, as his PT recommended, not only did he experience a reduction in DOMS but he found his exercise performance increased particularly towards the end of his sessions when he experienced less fatigue.
While I was in awe of the pretty pink drink, I wasn't super-keen on the taste. We opted to try the Berry Blast flavour which my boyfriend didn't mind but it tasted slightly medicinal and too artificial to me. In hindsight I should have opted for the unflavoured powder so that I could have mixed it with a wider variety of drinks. The mixability of the powder isn't great so I would definitely recommend investing in a decent
or mixing it into a smoothie where you are less likely to notice any 'bits'. In future though, I would probably continue by taking
for quicker and easier consumption but with all of the benefits.
Have you tried BCAA supplements? If so, I'd love to know if you found the same benefits!
