Myprotein Nutri-Greens Supplement Review

I have used MyProtein for quite a long time now for various supplements and fitness accessories and I have always been so impressed with the fantastic quality of their products and service that I often have a good browse through their website to see what is new. I am so curious about all of the different health and fitness supplements available on the market that I just can't help but try a few every now and again. The latest supplement to catch my eye is MyProtein's Total Nutri-greens powder*.

Ingredients

Total Nutri-greens is part of the Health and Wellbeing range which includes a huge range of products from spirulina powder to grape seed extract but I chose Total Nutri-greens for it's a blend of a whopping 22 super foods, whole foods, fruit and vegetable extracts. While I have a really varied diet including lots of fruit and veg, I hope that this antioxidant-rich powder will help to boost my overall health and immunity, especially with winter creeping up on us!

Unflavoured

Soy Lecithin, Spirulina, Apple Fibre Powder, Barley Grass Powder, Wheat Grass Powder, Oat Fibre Powder, Pomegranite Seed, Alfalfa Grass powder, Chlorella Broken Cell Wall, Soy Sprout Powder, Acerola Berry, Red Beet Root Powder, Siberian Ginseng, Carrot Powder, Tomato Juice, Astragalus Root Powder, Spinach Leaf, Brocolli Powder, Gingko Biloba, Green Tea Leaf, Grape Seed, Elderberry Whole Fruit Powder, Blueberry Whole Fruit Powder

Taste  + Texture

First, I tried the tropical flavour, adding 3 small (2g) scoops to water. It looked at bit 'swampy' and smelled 'earthy' - not that I was expecting Um Bongo or anything, but I didn't think I'd actually have to psych myself up a bit to try it! I could see that the mixability wasn't the best (I've been totally spoiled by my Impact Whey Protein) as before I had tried it, it had started to separate into various levels of murkiness. However, when I eventually took a sip, I was surprised to find it was actually much sweeter and more drinkable than I anticipated. I have to admit though that I'm not keen on the taste (and general use) of sweeteners so I was more excited to try the unflavoured version.

The scent of the unflavoured version reminded me much more of the scent of tea (green tea leaf is actually one of the ingredients) which was okay, but I'm not a tea-drinker! I mixed a couple of scoops of the powder with my regular (delicious and chocolatey) protein shake and drank it up. I much preferred it to the tropical version made up with water and now always add Total Nutri-greens into my shake after a workout. I'm going to continue to experiment by mixing it with different drinks too. I'd like to try it in fruit juice and I'm sure it would be great mixed into a smoothie as well (if only my blender hadn't broken…).

Finally...

While I was browsing the internet for Total Nutri-greens, I discovered the MyProteinUK YouTube channel and really enjoyed watching this video where gorgeous MP ambassador Nina Ross talks about how she uses Nutri-greens.

Overall, I think that Total Nutri-greens is a brilliant product that would suit anyone regardless of whether they are an athlete or just someone trying to increase their fruit and veg intake.

I'd love to know if you have tried this product, any of its ingredients, or if you are tempted to! Let me know!
