Lululemon Wunder Unders: Style Obsession
From the second I first pulled on a pair of LululemonWunder Under pants* I have been obsessed with them. But before I start writing about my love affair with these workout pants, I want to address Lululemon's infamous reputation for being a little on the pricey side...
Up until recently when I visited Lululemon’s Covent Garden showroom, this preconception meant that I hadn't tried, touched or even really browsed the apparel. For years I have worn Nike workout clothing often bought from Sports Direct or a similar discount store as the products aren't super purse-friendly. I have been a very loyal Nike girl (and still am to some extent, just check out my trainer collection...) firmly believing the brand to be the crème de la crème for stylish, performance sportswear. This changed when I finally really experienced Lululemon and realised that sportswear can be even more stylish, and perform even better! And honestly, I had been very dubious…
The Wunder Unders are super soft, completely opaque, have a four-way stretch, and are sweat-wicking. They also have a super handy waistband pocket and completely flat, flawless seams. One of the things that surprised me most about these pants is the amazing support and control that they offer.
Wearing them makes my body feel more sculpted and toned; they definitely hold everything in place!
The pants come in a variety of colours, and when I realised that they are also reversible I felt like I had absolutely struck gold. The sizing label simply tears off (no need for scissors or an unpicker - they really have thought of everything!) and you can turn them inside out, so not only do I have pair with a cute lilac and mint waistband, I have a plain black pair too!
At £82.00, I can't deny that they are pricey, but I think they’re worth the investment. Cost per wear, ladies! That’s my motto.
Whenever I slip into these pants I don't want to have to take them off. As well as wearing them to the gym, I chill out in them at home, wear them to university, to the shops, to meet friends… Anything and everything!
So, prompted by the Lululemon team, I've styled them three ways...
Sporty: Top - H&M Pants - Lululemon Trainers - Nike
Casual: Sweatshirt - Topshop Pants - Lululemon Trainers - Adidas
Social: Tunic - Zara Jacket - Zara Handbag - Topshop Pants - Lululemon High tops - Carvela at Kurt Geiger
The comfort, performance and styling flexibility of the Wunder Unders is amazing. I can't wait until the new Covent Garden store (19/20 Longacre) opens on 28th March so that I can start building my Lululemon collection...
